Calyptus is a platform that automates job applications for users. They are seeking a Backend Engineer who will design prototypes, analyze solution trade-offs, and implement research while collaborating with engineers and operators in the ML and blockchain domains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partnering with our product and research teams to design prototypes and iterate with the engineering team towards production-grade solutions.
• Reviewing code and technical proposals while providing constructive feedback to team members.
• Working in domains such as distributed/p2p systems, AI/ML, and blockchain/cryptocurrency.
• Leveraging tools and languages such as Python/PyTorch, Rust, and GCP.
• Building, testing, debugging, and deploying large-scale decentralized systems across hundreds of nodes.

Requirements:

• Be fluent in systems languages such as Rust, C, C++, assembly languages, shell scripting, or DSLs.
• Possess expertise in one or more of the following: networking, distributed systems, storage, databases, operating systems, or runtimes, with the ability to read research papers in these fields and design systems based on them.
• Have experience in building and shipping production-level systems or applications, with emphasis on those involving ML or incentive design.
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills.
