About the Role
We’re looking for a Founding Backend Engineer to architect the systems, infrastructure, and AI-powered workflows that will power our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build the core backend services and APIs for our product.
- Lead development in Rust with PostgreSQL and cloud infrastructure.
- Partner with ML engineers to integrate AI-driven insights and automation.
- Build scalable systems to handle subscription data, retention experiments, and real-time reporting.
- Establish backend engineering best practices, deployment pipelines, and architecture foundations.
- Collaborate closely with frontend and product to ship features quickly and reliably.
Our stack today: Rust, PostgreSQL, React, and constrained AI for retention insights.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience building backend systems and APIs.
- Proficiency in Rust (or a strong systems/backend language and willingness to dive deep into Rust).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) and deployments.
- Comfort with databases like PostgreSQL and data modeling.
- Excitement about building resilient, high-performance infrastructure from scratch.
- (Bonus) Familiarity with subscription/e-commerce/payment systems.
- (Bonus) Experience with ML/AI integrations.
