About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Rust Engineer to build next-generation open-source developer tools that span the full software development lifecycle, from reproducible builds to cloud deployment.

This is a chance to work on real infrastructure challenges and help shape tools that empower thousands of developers. You'll be writing production-grade Rust, working closely with the open-source community, and solving hard technical problems around package management, build systems, and environment management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development on foundational components in Rust
• Design and implement scalable, reliable systems for developer workflows
• Work at the intersection of packaging, build tooling (e.g. Nix, Bazel), and system deployment
• Collaborate with both internal teams and open-source contributors
• Help shape the roadmap of a rapidly evolving toolchain

Requirements

• Strong Rust development experience and systems-level thinking
• Hands-on experience with build tools like Nix, Bazel, Cargo, or CMake
• Attention to detail, with a focus on performance and correctness
• Strong written communication skills — especially in open-source contexts
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a highly collaborative team
• Passion for improving the developer experience
